Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 930 Sewing Machine

Hit or Miss.. mine was a hit

I have owned a Sapphire 930 for two years now. When I first purchased the 930, the sensor buttonhole foot wouldn't operate properly. I assumed it was user error so I took it in for the dealer to try. It did the same for her. They replaced the foot but it didn't fix the problem. I was also having issue with free motion quilting.. it continually dropped stitches while quilting. I… read more took it in again and the dealer had the same issue. After a third problem occurred, wildly inconsistent stitches, the dealer replaced my machine with a new 930. I only had the first machine for 2 weeks and my replacement machine has been a great machine. It has beautiful stitch quality and can handle any fabric I throw at it. I love how much room there is for free motion quilting. Overall I've been very pleased with my machine. Cons...It really doesn't like to be dirty. I have to clean my machine after every project and if I'm making a full-sized quilt, it may need to be cleaned during the project. I don't mind but can see how it can be a pain if you're in a time crunch. I recommend the vacuum attachment cleaner as it does a great job and I'm not nervous about accidentally pressing lint down into the workings or something.It's also a bit noisy.It requires Husqvarna bobbins which are quite expensive. It's persnickety when it comes to thread. Mine has expensive tastes. I can't get invisible thread to work at all.. not without breaking. Maybe it's user error though. I believe Husqvarna used to turn out a much better product but today it's pretty hit or miss as to whether or not you get a decent sewing machine. I'm thankful I had a reputable dealer who make sure I had a working product. If I had done my research better I probably would own a different machine made by a different company. I do like my 930 but the Husqvarna company has not had stellar reviews for customer service or for the quality of their more modern machines.

Easy to use and beautiful stitches!

I am the proud owner of this wonderful Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 930. I have to say that,"I love it." It is very user friendly and has many features to assist and guide me throughout my sewing. The throat space is very spacious for all of my large quilting projects. I frequently sew queen and king size quilts and I never feel like I need extra throat space.
