Brother DreamWeaver Innov-is VQ3000 Sewing Machine

This is MY "Dream" of a machine!

My husband bought this incredible machine for me earlier this year and I'm in heaven! It is wonderfully easy to learn and it does so much! I've already made multiple quilts (LOVE that MuVit foot), household items and gifts plus done mending for friends and family. It gets used every day and it purrs along. The large throat area makes working with larger items a breeze and the… read more variety of presser feet that came with it give me options I've never had before. The documentation that comes with the machine is very easy to follow and very thorough. There are actually so many features that I've yet to use them all. I've been sewing for nearly sixty years and have used many machines, a lot of them very good, expecially some of the older mechanical zig-zag ones from the fifties and sixties (still have a few of these) when they were heavy, well-manufactured machines made to last. This Innov'is VQ3000 is the best of both worlds; it's solid and heavy and also has the superb electronic features the make sewing a joy. Even though it comes with three beautiful pieces of it's own "luggage" it really isn't a portable. At 45 pounds or so, it's even heavy to roll along in the case. Plus, because of the electronics, I wouldn't want it jostled around much anyway. I see this as a big positive however, not a detriment. This machine was meant to be set up permanently in one place for a serious sewer. I have a little lightweight Brother machine that goes on any "travels" with me. And I use the Innov-is' wheeled bag to carry it. The bag is so very roomy that the "baby" Brother and all my supplies and fabric can fit inside - another plus.
I wish I could tell you it came from Sewing Machines Plus - it didn't - my hubby bought it elsewhere. I CAN tell you that SMP is a great place to purchase anything related to sewing. They have everything you need, the prices are reasonable, they have great sales and their shipping and service are the best! I've been buying here for a while now and when I get an email from them I ALWAYs go look at the website. You never know when you're going to find a fantastic buy or some terrific new accessory.
Back to the Innov-is VQ3000: If you are serious about sewing, go test this machine - you'll be amazed and delighted.
