The colors are lovely--all of them--and I adore the spool-and-case combo: it's easy to store and transport; keeps all the threads tidy; has a clear window so you can see which color you want. Though there isn't as much thread per spool as with some other brands,… read more that amount is still plenty for several projects...plus, the hues are gorgeous and they look fantastic on whatever fabrics I use. No issues at all running these through my sewing machines, either.

I frequently use these for machine embroidery, as many designers prefer this brand of thread. I live in Springfield and have easily amassed over 1000 cones of Sulky and Robison Anton thread, but no matter how many shades I have on hand, I can never seem to find the exact one called for by the design! I love using this thread in my Brother embroidery machine because it's strong and the colors are beautiful. This set comes with a lot of colors that you will actually want to use, unlike some sets that come with so many custom colors that go unused. I'd recommend this as a great starter thread set until you know which colors you'll use most frequently.

This is high-quality thread, and cheaper options are available, but this brand seems to be the best on the market. The colors offer a great range of basics for someone who's new to machine embroidery.
