I bought the 1181 due to the 1541 being back ordered. I do not regret it at all! So far it goes through my leather with no problem!

Juki DNU1541S

This is an amazing machine, that outperforms my current sewing capabilities. My only gripe is that it does not come with assembly instructions for new users. While it’s not incredibly hard to figure out, the similar sized screws throw you off a little bit.

Awesome Machine, lacking manual and parts

Machine is awesome. Frustrated, lacked a manual or DVD. Tension was tight and I don't mean the machine! Between my husband and me trying to figure out how to install the knee lifter. Still can't get the knee lifter to work. Missing screws too. You can't find one full video on how to set up the new Juki 1541S. All are older models with a different oil pan. I called customer… read more service and they were nice enough sending some links but they have a different oil pan and the knee lifter sets different. Monday we will call need tech support. My husband was a jet mechanic in the Navy and knows how to put things together. Thank goodness for him! I'm no dummy and am pretty good at setting things up and figuring out what and how things should go. We gave up on the knee lifter for now. The machine runs beautifully. Stitch is right on. Handles very thick material. Love that I can set the speed, slow or fast. My recommendation to Juki or Sewing Machines Plus....provide the buyer with a link for a full set of instructions (visual) via video or a DVD. I am still playing with my machine but the other thing I have not addressed is the cover plate for the bobbin. It is flush with the table and you can't slide it off to get to the bobbin. So you have to tilt it back or reach under the get to it. You can't lift it up due to the fact the a knee lifter part is too long. I guess we will get it all dialed in and get the kinks worked out!

Gorgeous machine! So happy I chose this over all other brands. The learning curve was surprisingly minimal as well! My one major issue was resolved with a quick call!

they were out of stock on the 1541 so i got upgraded to the 1508 which i wanted originally at a reduced price and all i can say about this machine and my overall experience is AWESOME!
