Janome Memory Craft 400E Embroidery Machine

Canceled my order and purchased a Janome Memory Craft 500E instead.

My wife unpacked and tried out the machine immediately. It works great and she is very happy with it.

Janome 400e

I love this machine, the fact that you can digitize a design on the machine was a big plus. Also, you can do larger designs. I am still learning the machine, but so far it's a good machine. I just wish that the accessories were not so expensive, especially the thread. $175.00 for a box of 26, and there are 3 boxes. I spent close to $600.00 just for thread. This was the best purchase for me. I am so glad I decided on the Janome. I like the large hoop size and feel I can do whatever design I want. There is some limits on hoop size but I'm okay with that.

Just what I wanted!

I so wanted to embroider 8 inch square blocks. I thought that the 400e would be the berries!! I am a hardcore Janome customer...And it was a very good price! The 7.9x7.9 hoop embroidery field is perfect. The threading system is intriguing but I can now change thread in seconds now. And this is the best needle threader!

I didn't think I would like the carriage very much because it is different, but it is a wonderful system. I chose this machine because the cost was more affordable and just what I wanted to use without having to resort to splitting.
This is the second machine I have purchased from Sewingmachineplus.com. besides accessories. I have always been pleased. The support staff are the nicest and professional I have ever dealt with. So I would never be concerned from ordering from this company.

So glad I upgraded

I am thrilled with my 400e. I have quality results in a larger hoop than my previous embroidery machine. The color screen and built in designs make it so much easier. I was worried that I would need expensive software to work with it, but my embrillance essentials was in expensive and pairs perfectly with this machine,

This Janome has been a great value and a super great machine. I've never had any problems with it. Stitches out perfectly. Couldn't have gotten a better machine!

Love my MC400e

I watched several utube tutorials for the 500e while I was awaiting delivery of my 400e. I ordered a smaller hoop, but, wish there was a way to download an upgrade for bigger embroidery area as I believe the carriage would handle a bigger sewing space.

This machine met and exceeded my expectations. I had some questions which the super knowledgeable sales team, specifically Gary and Ron were able to answer. There is a learning curve to every machine but this one is no more difficult than my Janome mc6600. Shipping was fast and I am in Alaska, so, a lot of things come by barge. Overall, extremely happy with this purchase.

I am having sew (so) much fun with this machine. I have already made some great gifts for my granddaughters. I think this Janome product is a great value and I should get years of use.

This machine is the smaller sister of the Janome Memory Craft 500e and is a dream of a machine. The screen is nice and big and of excellent quality, the programs on it are easy to understand, and the touchscreen works really well. The quality of the stitches is excellent - just be sure to exchange the bobbin holder to the yellow-dot one if you're not using Janome thread. The only… read more drawback I've seen is that the thread has a tendency to get ahead of itself while being fed into the machine - I solved that problem by raising the carrying handle and looping thread through the handle before it goes into the pre-tension thread guide. Love, love, love this machine! It also comes equipped with auto thread-cutting, and that seems to be invaluable. Oh - another thing: when you transfer designs by USB-stick, you need to make a folder named EMB, with a subfolder named Embf, and put your designs into that subfolder for the machine to recognize them. I found that out on my own, and I don't know why the manual doesn't mention it...

Really nice machine

I really like this machine sews beautifully but the one thing that drives me nuts is the low thread indicator. It gets down to half a bobbin and all it wants to do is warn you of low bobbin thread. I cant help but think I'm wasting a lot of thread because of the fear of running out of bobbin thread!

Very happy with my Janome MC 400E

I had wanted an embroidery machine for a very long time, but didn't think I could afford one. However, thanks to the interest free financing I was able to purchase a higher end machine. I am still learning how to use it,and probably never run out of things to learn about it. I am limited only by my imagination.

Gorgeous stitch out

I bought the machine when more expensive. It stitches out beautifully.
I gave it a 4 star because I’ve had to replace bobbin holder 2 Times. And because there are few hoops for this machine. Not even a hat hope at last check.
It is very beneficial to have the software as well and I did buy artistic suite.

You will enjoy the machine. It works much better than the Futuraa I had from 5 years ago. And you are not tethered to a o’clock to run.

Top thread breaking

I am having trouble with my top thread breaking all the time. I have changed the bobbin case over to the yellow dot, as not using Janome thread only. Still no change. Can anyone help me?
