I’ve never embroidered anything in my life before I purchased the Brother PE800. For me it was a great first-time embroidery machine. As I got familiar with my PE800 and wanting to do more designs that had a lot of thread changes. I decide to upgrade to a multi needed machine. So, I purchased the Janome MB-4S. Upgraded from a PE800 after it started to wear out. We embroider anywhere from 1 to 20+ items per day.

The Janome MB-4S is worth every penny. It’s very clear how much more advanced this machine is in every way.

If the price tag is in your range, you won’t regret getting this machine.

Ordered a Janome but ended up choosing the Elna

Unfortunately the Janome was out of stock so I opted for the Elan version instead. The customer service agent was very cordial and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions to enable me to determine that the substitution was a good option.

I was scared to death to make the financial commitment- but now I am so glad that I did. This machine is amazing. I found it very easy to thread and to use. I have had it now for 4 weeks and I have embroidered over 100 items. So very excited about the future of my shop with this machine

It has performed very well on all projects, I do a good cleaning every month and it works great ever time, I am glad I chose to purchase the MB-4 going to purchase the software soon.

I love my MB4

I bought this machine about 2 months ago.. there is a little bit of a learning curve. It works best with Janome Software for it. I had been using software I already had and it seemed like the machine was reading the files wrong and the embroidery was off. Once I purchased the Artistic suite 6 Software and transferred files from that software I have had very little to no problems… read more and my embroidery is coming out beautiful. This machine is great. I got mine last year and just love it. It is so easy to use that you can just take it out of the box and begin to embroider. Threading is a breeze.

MB-4 my opinion

I love this machine to, but hops sizes is to small, 240sm it is not enough !

Didn't think I'd Wish I'd Never Purchased it :-(

I used to owen the MB-4 and thought I'd venture out and get the MB-4s. Things started well until one day the machine jumped and the needle jammed into the hoop. Due to purchasing it online and living out-of-state I had to send it back to be serviced because it would no longer embroider. The tech guy assured me it was fixed, but I haven't been able to embroider a thing since receiving… read more it because the error message keeps referring to a thread break and haven't been able to reach anyone. Lesson learned...Buy local!

Easy to use

Love this machine, when you change hoops, you do not have to adjust arms. Just slide in the new hoop and embroider. The hoops sizes are just enough for me. I just did hoopsisters 8" blocks for the embroider in the hoop mystery quilt with no problem. The machine even handled the water soluable thread with no problem.

After having the machine for less than a year the RCS unit went out. No one seems to know what to do about it. Can't get in touch with no one. Please do not buy this machine. spent way to much money.

Buy Local When Possible

The assembly was very easy. BUT the software ,I purchased, was defective causing me stress in trying to make something that wasn't responding, work. I've had the J-MB-4S for 3 weeks and I can't use it effectively because of the software.
