The Gathering Attachment is used to create a gathered effect on fabrics, with one layer of fabric passing underneath the Attachment and the other remaining flat on top. As the fabric is fed through the sewing machine, differential feed simultaneously gathers the fabric underneath the Attachment whilst stitching it to the flat fabric layer above. This produces a gathered effect, allowing for a variety of creative and decorative finishes.
